This lifeline we have
Its a tenuous rope
Its just a thin line between the light
The dark is all around us
I touch the lifeline and it shimmers with life
I go to sleep without you and all the lines of hope vanish
The dreams of a lifetime vanish but the point of light
The light that was me
See it fall as a burning ball of strength
Lost in the embers of my soul
I cast the lifeline out attempting to touch others
The grip is lost and I still fall
I throw out, wanting someone to catch
All I see are the shadows and the burning path of the lifeline
Its all dim in either direction
I am lost with no direction but downward
